Chinatown, Montreal, Quebec
Viger street, Saint-Urbain street, René-Lévesque boulevard and Saint-Laurent boulevard
Chinatown of Montreal
Every great city has its Chinatown and Montreal’s no different. Located not too far from the Old Port, with many entrances (Viger street, Saint-Urbain street, René-Lévesque boulevard and Saint-Laurent boulevard) on St-Laurent Boulevard lies a beautiful eastern sight: great “Paifangs” (portals) with fairly sized Chinese sculptures, given by the Chinese government. And you better think twice if you think that only Asian people dwells here: the beauty of our Chinatown , the way it is so in sync with the “motherland” life style while being open to western culture is very seductive and it’s wonderful place to hang out, relax ( relaxation classes not far from a plaza in La Gauchetière street, lounges and such) and explore.
